Labour team talk about consultation for a Halfway Parish Council

The Labour Team were out in a sunny Halfway today talking to residents about the Swale Borough Council consultation which is currently under way about whether to form a Parish Council for Halfway.

The flagship policy to parish every part of Swale dreamt up by the Tory administration was shunned by most residents last year. In an effort to save face after spending thousands on exploring the policy, the Tories are pressing ahead with their consultation on the issue in Halfway as it was the only area which expressed a small majority in favour of exploring the formation of a Parish Council in the preliminary council consultation.

Labour activists, including our Parliamentary Candidate Guy Nicholson, knocked on around 400 doors today, with barely any appetite for a Parish Council for Halfway expressed by residents.
