Summer Campaigning

Margaret Cooper, CLP Secretary.

We have had a very busy Summer campaigning in Sittingbourne & Sheppey. We kicked off the Summer with three Action Days in Sheppey Central with the excellent Pat Wiggins and team. The reception there has been fantastic. In East Sheppey we delivered over 7,500 Newspapers and have canvassed well over 600 houses. Work is now continuing on a regular basis there with Pat’s brilliant team.

We have also had groups out in Sittingbourne every week. We have been visiting voters in Chalkwell and Milton Regis which have not been contacted previously and knocked on almost 400 doors in Chalkwell and vistsed 150 households in Milton Regis. There is more of this to come through the Autumn.

We have also been renewing contact with Labour supporters in Kemsley who we contacted during the By-Election in March of this year. We knocked on every single door during the By-Election and we are determined to keep up our work in this ward, contacting around 250 voters in Kemsley this summer.

We are now starting our Autumn Action days in Central Sittingbourne, the first of which was on 1st September. On this day alone we had 20 activists out delivering leaflets and knocking on over 700 doors.

We are trying our hardest to live up to our reputation being one of the most active CLPs in Kent!
